Rubber industry

The rubber industry is certainly one of the most interesting fields of application of the BICARjet® surface cleaning solution.

The most common production process is the shaping of items by injection of melt rubber within moulds. Typically, moulds are steel-made (sometimes chromed or with particular surface treatment), as for instance for gaskets, o-rings or sealing products production.

Differently, in compression moulding (also including vulcanization), like for instance in the tyre production, aluminium and its alloy are preferred.

Maintenance of such tools is a key factor for high quality finished products because

  • in the production process, release agents are used at each operation to avoid strong adherence of melt rubber to the moulds. Their repeated use, combined with temperature variations on mould surface lead to the forming of a thick layer of release chemical residues;
  • during compression operations, dark fumes from melt rubber are expelled from the moulds. After several production lots, a layer of exhaust fumes covered the surface of the moulds;
  • and, of course, after some time, rubber residues accumulate on the internal surface of moulds.

In similar cases, the advantages of BICARjet® surface cleaning systems are numerous and offer a valuable and simple solution to rubber item producers.

For our customers, weight, mould size and amount of daily work are to be taken into consideration when selecting the most suitable SOBIJET® equipments combination.

Please do not hesitate to contact us to find the right solution to your specific needs, including integrated fully-automatic cleaning solutions.
